The male places himself next to a nest and sings to attract the female. She visits all the nests already built by the male, in company of this latter, before choosing the one she will inhabit by leaving some of her feathers, as a sign of approval. She will lay 5 to 8 off-white eggs with dark red brownish spots there, sometimes after a few weeks. The incubation takes about two weeks. While the female broods she won't receive any food from the male, who is busy courting other females in order to fill his remaining nests.

Average lifespan of the Eurasian wren: 6 years
