Before building its nest, the male likes to parade doing a sort of twig offering?. He catches a twig on the ground and flies up to present it to his female. This latter catches one herself and both partners fly around together twig in beak?.  There is also a beak kiss? followed by a feeding parade, symbolic at first and real afterwards. This kinds of behaviors intend to stimulate mating in both male and female. Copulation is frequently observed at these occasions.

Average lifespan of the bullfinch: 17 years
